Summary[]

Han and Mei Ning face suspicion from villagers after arriving in the Dark Underworld Place, a realm where magical powers are nullified. While Elder Zhou offers temporary shelter, others like Tianji see them as burdens. Han learns from Fellow Luo that the only known way out is through the perilous Stormwind Mountain, where past escape attempts, even by a Nascent Soul cultivator, ended in tragedy. Luo introduces Han to a warehouse containing carved records, revealing the former cultivator’s decades-long struggle, descent into madness, and insights into cultivation.

After arriving in the Dark Underworld Place, Han and Mei Ning attend a village meeting where Dark Underworld Beast Crystals are discussed. These crystals, extracted from beast skulls, are key to survival, as they allow limited use of power in this otherwise magicless realm.

The newcomers face suspicion from Tianji and others, who view them as a burden due to scarce resources. Elder Zhou tries to keep the peace and offers Han and Mei shelter for three days before they'll be expected to contribute.

Han inquires whether it’s possible to leave the Dark Underworld. The villagers reveal a dangerous potential exit: Stormwind Mountain, where a spatial rift might open. However, it's filled with deadly beasts and demonic winds. Previous escape attempts, even by Nascent Soul cultivators, failed.

Han explores the village and speaks with Fellow Luo, a disillusioned cultivator from the Jin Empire. Luo shares his theory that the Dark Underworld might actually be inside Rahu, a mythical colossus that devours sun and moon.

Luo guides Han to a warehouse where records carved into stone reveal the tragic journey of a powerful Nascent Soul cultivator trapped here for over 40 years. His journal shows growing desperation, failed attempts to escape via Stormwind Mountain, and eventual madness.
