The Gold Threaded Silkworms are a rare exotic insect species that are ranked quite low on the list of Wondrous Bugs.[1]
Appearance[]
They are giant silkworms whose skin is covered with a translucent golden glow. They are about 4 meters tall when their upper body is upright and their body length measures approximately 10 to 15 meters long.[2]
Abilities[]
Resilient Golden Thread[]
They can produce thick golden thread that has incridible resilience, enough to be able to withstand the Celestial Ice Flames.[3]
General Combat Strength[]
Since they are low ranked in the list of exotic insects, their strength was inferior than that of the Blood Jade Spider.[1]
Evolution[]
These silkworms had a seldomly known second evolution. Given enough time, they could possibly evolve into a Flame Mirage Moth. While they would still be somewhat weaker than the Gold Devouring Beetles, ranking seventeen on the list of exotic insects, they had an innate ability of transformation. While its power was formidable, its description was quite vague. It seems this insect had seldomly been seen even in ancient times. Even if the Mirage Flame Moth's high ranking was somewhat inaccurate, it was by no means insignificant.[1]

Heavenvoid Hall[]
Wan Tianming fed eight of his grade 2 Gold Threaded Silkworms with Sky Blue Flower to forcefully raise their capabilities in an attempt to seize the Heavenvoid Cauldron.[4] However, consuming it can will permanently cripple the silkworms after a short period of time, which was the reason why Wan Tianming left his crippled silkworms behind and also erased his marks of ownership from them before leaving the alter containing the Heavenvoid Cauldron despite the presence of the Devil Dao cultivators.
Rainbow Beads[]
Han Li took these crippled silkworms to later test if he could nurture them to good health or at least make them breed to produce offsprings unaffected by the crippling effects of the Sky Blue Flower. He would continuously feed them Soul Nurturing Pills and other rare spiritual medicines. However, all this seemingly accomplished was prolong the inevitable. With each passing day, they grew increasingly haggard and Han Li could only helplessly watch as they continued to decline. Later, Han Li decided to feed two of silkworms the Rainbow Beads. While he was largely unsuccessful in nurturing them to good health, he was able to prolong their life past that of those silkworms who were not fed the Rainbow Bead and had thus perished.[5] The fact that the Rainbow Beads did not have negative effects on the silkworm also assured Han Li that the beads would not harm him.
Rainbow Skirt Grass[]
Afterwards, he specially prepared some Rainbow Skirt Grass and fed them to the two silkworms.[5] This led them to breed and lay over a hundren eggs. However, being a rare exotic insect of high grade, the probability of a successful reproduction was minute and so, all the eggs were dead. After laying the eggs, the crippled silkworms had perished as well.[5]
