The Pestilence Demons Soullock Technique temporarily seals baleful qi of the user by sealing the 5 demons of pestilence inside of their body. The demons of pestilence would then restrain the baleful qi. While this would contain a majority of the user's baleful qi, most of thier cultivation would be restricted as well. If the user rashly made use of their magic power during this time, the baleful qi and pestilence demons would backlash.[1]
While employing this technique, the user's face can wear the appearance of one of the demons of pestilence sealed inside of them, which is described to be incredibly gruesome.[1]
The seal can be temporarily dispelled for 2 hours by drinking 2 drops of Myriad Year Spirit Milk. During this time, the demons of pestilence would devour the spirit milk instead and would therefore unleash the user's baleful qi as well as allow them to access their full cultivation. However, the caveat is that each time the seal is released like this, the baleful qi will take over a portion of the user's soul. Hence, after a certain number of times, even the pestilence demons would not be able to restrain the baleful qi backlash.[1]
Monarch Soul Divergence gave this technique to Han Li so that he could restrain his baleful qi while fleeing from the Soaring Tribes' cultivators after he was heavily injured and suffered from a baleful qi backlash. Using this technique restrained Han Li's cultivation from Mid-Nascent Soul stage to Mid-Foundation Establishent stage.[2] Hence, he is not able to use his ancient treasures and flying swords, but is able to use his Gold Devouring Beetle and second Nascent Soul.[1]
