Song Meng (宋蒙), also nicknamed Martial Idiot , is Han Li's fourth martial brother and a disciple of Li Huayuan.
Song Meng is a Foundation Establishment cultivator that resided in the Heavenly South Region. He is a member of the Yellow Maple Valley sect. He is a disciple of one of its elders named Li Huayuan. He is head-strong and jovial. He often carries a cold demeanor. He is unafraid of combat and often gets excited when he is about to enter combat.
Song Meng grew up near his master. He would spend most of his time within the residence of his master. As a result, he lacks experience regarding the matters of the world.
First Meeting[]
Song Meng spent his time cultivating and practicing with other disciples of his master. During one of his sparring sessions he met Han Li who was newly accepted by their master. Song Meng briefly examined Han Li and was disappointed that that Han Li was not fit for sparring. Song Meng left without introducing himself.
Nearly every time Han Li came to meet their master, Song Meng and Han Li would meet in person. Each time, Song Meng maintained his indifferent attitude towards Han Li.
Emperor of Yue[]
Years later, Song Meng was given a mission to assist Han Li in eliminating practitioners of the Devil Dao that had taken over the mortal Empire of the State of Yue. Song Meng gathered along with his martial brothers and sisters to discuss the situation. Song Meng was elated at the prospect of combat against the Devil Dao practitioners. His indifferent demeanor with Han Li collapsed. Song Meng demonstrated his excitement when he rendezvoused with Han Li. Song Meng forgot to educate his other Martial Brothers and Sisters who had been in seclusion. As a result, his Martial Sister was upset that he had failed to tell them about Han Li's fame and fearsome reputation amongst Foundation Establishment cultivators.
After discussions and preparations were complete, Song Meng participated in the assault on the Devil Dao practitioners from the Black Fiend School that had taken over the empire. He was organized into a group whose mission was to distract and eliminate cultivators from the school. Another group was responsible for rescuing the emperor. During the assault the situation worstened when the Black Fiend School revealed additional Foundation Establishment cultivators undergoing a transformation. Song Meng rose to the occasion by revealing his hidden abilities. The group barely managed to defeat the school's rank-and-file members. However, in a moment of carelessness, the master of the school revealed himself and killed one of Song Meng's martial brothers - Liu Jing.
The situation grew dire as it was also revealed that the Emperor was also a practitioner of the Devil Dao. Song Meng was shocked when he witnessed Han Li's ability to simultaneously control a great number of treasures and talismans in an effort to stall and save allies. However the situation grew dim as many of Song Meng's allies were slowly being eliminated. He retreated along with the remaining survivors - Han Li, Chen Qiaoqian and Zhong Weiniang.
Song Meng was again surprised when Han Li had used retreat as a ploy to lure the emperor into a formation. Song Meng assisted Han Li in a struggle for survival against the emperor. His efforts paid off when Han Li managed to slay the emperor. After the battle, Song Meng accompanied Martial Sister Chen back to the sect.
Failed Ascension[]
Shortly after the battle against the emperor, the Devilish Dao Alliance won a decisive battle. As a member of the Yellow Maple Valley sect, Song Meng was forced to abandon his home and flee from the State of Yue. He fled with the sect to the Nine Nations Union where he continued to cultivate. Unfortunately he was unable to reach the Core Formation stage before he perished.
